I did day in the life again Here is what travis and I did on our day off. February 11th, 2009.

since we are both off of work today (we both worked at whole foods) we didn't set the alarm. I woke up first and rolled over to check the clock. it wasn't as late as I thought it would be.

murray hewitt sees me moving around and comes to get his morning cuddle. he is six months old and is getting so big!

little husband is still asleep. he NEVER wakes up first.

that's me.

first thing i put the dishes into the dish washer. i start to get really irritable when they pile up.

then i took my supplements. I'm trying to be good and do it every day.

then i sat down to work on our budget for the next two weeks. we are doing a money makeover thing and have to be really strict. it's not fun but it's working really well. i hate doing the math though.

while i'm working on that Travis wakes up and pours a bowl of cereal for me. how sweet.

when i'm done with the budget i make a to do list so we don't forget everything we have to do today!

time check!!!

before i get dressed i decide we should fold all of our laundry. we usually just dig through the hamper for a week.

i pick out my clothes and get dressed.

brush my teeth! i just got a new toothbrush and i don't think i'm satisfied with it. it isn't stiff enough.

i fill up my water bottle so i won't have to buy drinks while we're out running around.

i'm ready to go! then i see travis in the living room changing out his bags! what! c'mon dude!

now we're ready!

plug in the ipod. and a time check.

we stop off at the recycling center. people must drink a lot of wine around here.

we are heading to the town square of the tiny town we live in. we haven't lived here long and haven't explored much. I don't think there is much to see really.

we go to the bank and get out cash to put into our little budget envelopes. playa playa!

time to get library cards! i'm really excited because my new job involves a lot of travel and i want to check out some audio books!

we discover that they have a harry potter club!! the sign says it's for ages 8-18, but the librarian says she'd be glad to have us! i can't wait for the Quidditch match.

on the way out we see this cute mule crown. there is a huge mule festival here every year and that is what the winning mule gets to wear! cute! i'm excited about mule day.

we have some time to kill before we meet up with our friend so we go to an antique store on the square and buy that cute Pappy cup (you can't see it but there are little singing guys with mustaches on it too).

dennis meets us for lunch! he has lived in this town for a long time and is showing us his favorite places to eat.

this little restaurant was really fun. i had a BLT and it was delicious. travis had a cranberry chicken salad sandwich. we will definitely be back.

after we talk to dennis for a really long time we go grocery shopping. we have to go to whole foods too. it's kind of annoying to do your shopping in two places but we can't afford to get everything at whole foods. i'm sure you can tell by our cart that we are dieting. it's going really well!

timecheck on the way home to drop off the groceries.

i wrap the birthday gift we are taking to a friend later that night. travis picked it out for her. i want to keep it for myself!

yay! we are getting a lot done! this is pretty much the most productive day off we've had all year.

i get a new game for my ds to play in the car when i'm on trips for my new job. i am obsessed with it now!! cooking mama is my favorite game ever!!!

we went to old navy and i forgot to take a picture. i bought a purple hoodie. then we went to target to get some little travel sized things.

then we went to whole foods to get some snacks for the movie. i ended up with cashews and dried papaya spears.

we meet crystal at wendy' s to get a little dinner.

brittany meets us there too. i really like their little caesar salads. super cheap dinner. i think it ws 2.50. yum!

crystal gets a frostie float to take into the movie. she puts it in her purse and actually makes it to her seat without spilling it! pretty good.

we wait in line for what seems like forever to buy tickets. i guess we forgot that friday night is movie night.

we saw coraline! it was AMAZING!!! it's been out awhile, so you've probably seen it by now. if not, it's so good. totally creepy and beautiful.

here is our reaction shot after the movie! it was so scary!! you can see i've changed into my new hoodie. i think i changed shirts too.

timecheck on the way up to nashville to the mercy lounge.

waiting in line to get in. there are two opening bands before the one we want to see (the features) so we hang out in the outside room and some of our friends play pool. There were probably 8 more friends here but it was really too dark to get a picture. we gave dana her present and she liked it.

The Features played and it was really amazing. They are a local band and we go see them all the time. we always dance really hard and i lose my voice. it's so perfect.

timecheck! and we're home!

i bought this silkscreen poster at the show. travis is tired obviously.

i decide to take a bath before going to bed. we have a clawfoot tub and it's so hard to resist! murray likes to help out.

brush the teeth again. yes, i definitely need a different toothbrush.

bed looks so cozy!!

Info on your budget, pleeease. Does only using cash help? As soon as I am employed again I am making a budget for my boyfriend and I because we're going to stick all of my paychecks in savings and live off of his income so we have a large cushion in our savings, but I know things are going to be pretty tight and we like to go out for food a lot.

it's the dave ramsey total money makeover. they probably have the book at your local library. it's really annoying to read but it's really helpful. i love using just cash. we've been doing it for three pay periods i think and we immediately went from spending every penny we made to being able to save a big chunk. you save for everything. like, we have a furniture things that we put 50 dollars into each check, so that when we need to buy something the money is there and it doesn't tap us out. and when the envelope is empty you just can't buy anything else. we love it.

we're saving a lot because we aren't paying rent. we hope to have 13,000 in savings by the end of the year.

it's a big mule festival! they have mule beauty contests and they pull carts and there is a big parade with tons of mules, and a local girl gets crowned mule queen! and you can buy mule souvenirs.

yes, we got, i think 9 sets of sheets as wedding presents, all from macy's or target. the martha stewart ones are my favorite. they are so soft! we even got one of the super expensive martha stewart quilts. i like to mix them all up because i like them all so much.

Ahhh, Martha Stewart has some really nice bedding at Macy's. My mom has some more MS bedding and it's really great. I wish I could get some of it, but just way too expensive for something that the rabbits would wreck.

Aww! I love seeing these because it makes me feel like I get to see you more often! Even though I saw you that day. Hahah. I don't know why, but that was the most fun Features show ever! i love posting in day in the life because the people are always so nice and positive! there were probably 30 more nice comments before the post got deleted and i had to redo it. usually i don't get that many new friends out of it though! i'm pretty excited. i love reading live journals.

It was in the house when we moved in! i love it. it's so perfect for reading in.

i got the water bottle at whole foods. they sell them at REI too. and probably most outdoor places. they have so many cute designs.
