I'm doing day in the life again! it's for day three of my fantastic besties trip!! ahh!!

i woke up around 10 am in the loft of a hunting cabin. it was to dark to get a picture of myself. so i took one of thomas looking down into the kitchen. then i looked down too.

my best friend's husband marc and my husband travis were already up making us breakfast. i wanted to lounge in my nice cool bed for a while but i decided to go down and help them instead.

so i went down the creepy steps...

that's me! since it was vacation i just left the bed head all day. it wasn't too bad.

here's some product placement for you. this is the best all natural deodorant EVAR. my husband and i had tried all kinds they sell at whole foods and nothing ever worked that great. but this funk butter works perfectly. for serious.

i went into the kitchen for my assigned breakfast role: biscuit making! i kept forgetting to do things, like flour the dough, and my work surface. it was a very messy job.

it's ready! that is everyone but crystal, who is taking the picture from the loft. we are in a craft club and were having a crafting cabin weekend getaway.

breakfast was soooo good. we had specific menus for each day and this morning was big tennessee breakfast morning! we had eggs and bacon and sausage and biscuits and gravy. yummo.

oven time check!

first order of business was getting ready for the creek!

we rode this ugly camo cart around all weekend. it was much better than walking. that bucket is for catching crawdads.

another product placement. this sunscreen is da bomb. it smells like creamsavers. and works really well if you are like me and get sun burned from being outside for 10 minutes at a time.

the creek! the water comes from a spring so it is crystal clear and tastes really good! it's also freezing cold. this was the best spot in the creek because...

there is a nice dip in the rocks that is fast enough to carry you down the creek. and...

if you jump into it you disappear!! that is travis, my hubby, and he was the bravest. he would always jump in face first.

crystal started the day by shaving and brushing her teeth in the creek. it's awesome i swear. thomas brought his slimer costume. as usual. that thing makes us laugh so much so we bring it everywhere. and we obviously thought it would be funny in the creek.

it was.

crystal and i decided to go back to the cabin and get the beach chairs and the floats.

we checked on marissa, who had decided to stay behind and craft all day with marc. she was on the porch sewing grocery bags.

when we got back we discovered that thomas had been swimming in the creek with his camera in his pocket!! ahahah, for like, 20 minutes! he wasn't that mad about it so we could laugh. (it dried out and works again. he's going to get a new one though because he has a warranty)

once we got back kyle and travis were party poopers and said they were tired of swimming and sunburned. lame!

so we only stayed a little while longer and ate tons of cheetos. they have somehow become official craft club snack food.

before we left thomas wanted to wash his hair. he couldn't stay still in the fast current so crystal went to help. i like that it looks like he is being baptized in the first one. haha.

back on the buggy...

and back to our home for four days!

timecheck. that was our shortest creek trip of the whole weekend.

then it was lunch time! it was designated sandwich day! mmm my sandwich was really good. everything tastes better when you are tired and cold from swimming.

then it was craft time! everyone got busy. except me. i was feeling lazy. i didn't work on any of my projects at all.

i played nintendogs for a little while.

then i tried to doze on a towel in the nice shade. but that only lasted for a few minutes because knats started buzzing around. i went back to the safe bug free screened porch.

computer time check!

i edited pictures for a while. we took over 600 during the whole trip! ah!

i watched marissa teach crystal some yoga moves. i was to lazy to join them.

mmm. gummi worms. we ate tons of junk food. it was great.

i decided to go up to the loft for a nap. i looked down into the living room to see how things were going. we made such a big mess!

people kept coming up and interrupting my nap time so i gave up and went back downstairs to see how crafts were progressing.

crystal was making stuffed elephants and having trouble with her sewing machine.

kyle made this cute thing!

travis finished a bird. he likes to cut things out of old cardboard packaging and make animals. i think it is so cute when boys do crafts. yum.

kyle told me he was going to attempt to climb the deer stand again so i went with him out into the yard. last time he didn't it all the way because of a big spider! but he made it this time.

then it was time to make dinner! i didn't help really. i just sat in the kitchen and talked and took pictures.

it was sooooooooooo goooooooood.

that loft is so convenient for picture taking!

after dinner crystal, travis, and i decided to paint our faces like skeletons. crystal and marc have a huge box of halloween makeup (i have a smaller one) and we like to dress up most of the times we are together. the night before we had zombie prom. but tonight we three were the only ones interested.

some before and after shots for you. we did ok. it was our first skull attempt.

we took a night ride out to the creek and it wasn't as scary as we expected.

oooo spooooky!

back home! we sang songs the whole way so we wouldn't get scared thinking about witches in the trees. but the only songs we all knew were silly. a whole new world, the circle of life, and my favorite of the night, rehab by amy winehouse. that sounds ridiculous as a sing a long.

when we got back it was almost midnight and everyone got ready for bed. marissa is still reading the harry potter series and we talk about it alot so we have to avoid spoilers all the time.

i went up to the loft. our bed was right there on the edge! but husband slept next to it so i wouldn't roll off. how sweet.

one last peek down at the happenings downstairs. they stayed up a little while to craft some more.

goodnight deer heads! |

Do you just put that deodorant on with your fingers? I'm very intrigued. I think your craft club should take outside members. Sign me up.
yeah, you just put a pea sized ball on your fingers and rub it on.
Ocean Potion ftw. It totally smelled like creamsavers.
youyesyou <3 making monsters <3 cooking w/ your besties <3
we need to collide at some point. your life is great. :]
i also think it's really cute when boys craft. i second the yum. but rachel ray would say "yum-o!"
omg that seriously sounds like the best trip ever! I love that you guys dress up all the time! All my friends are usually party poopers and don't do anything fun like that. I love that you were wearing the skeleton shirt too! The menu board is so fun. I've only cooked with friends before like once, a theme is so much fun!
i feel really lucky that i still have friends that are into being silly at all times and dressing up. that's why i don't think i could ever move away from nashville. ever.
now you understand why i love the craft center so much. :) | |
